A lot of political
pundits claim that most Americans do not pay all that much attention to
government and politics, but the recent poll by Gallup on the job of Congress shows that not
only do Americans pay attention, they
understand exactly what is going on here.
PRINCETON, NJ -- Ten
percent of Americans in August approve of the job Congress is doing, tying last
February's reading as the lowest in Gallup's 38-year history of this measure.
Eighty-three percent disapprove of the way Congress is doing its job.
And here is the recent trend.
So all that is left
to wonder is whether or not 10% of the American is brain dead or living on
another planet. And yes, notice the trend since January of 2011 when Republicans took control of the House and effective control of the Senate. Is there a lesson here?
