Martin Sullivan on Corporate Tax Reform

Not This Year, Next Year Don’t Look So Good Either

Martin Sullivan, one of the best of those who comment on taxes and tax policies on the Internet has a post out today (thanks to Paul Caron of Tax Prof Blog for a reference) examining the likelihood and details of any changes in the Corporate Tax Rate.

There are many important points in this article, which very nicely summarizes the various issues under discussion, but the bottom line is that political considerations will prevent any major (or probably even any minor) change in the tax code with respect to corporate taxes.

Those who are proposing such plans fall under the category of “useful idiots”.  They serve to give the appearance to the public of something being done, without anything actually ever being accomplished.
