Still Another Reason Why Taxes on the Wealthy Cannot Be Raised

It Would Deprive Them of This

From the travel section of the Wall Street Journal we have this enticing news

Jewel of a Suite

If you've ever fantasized about living in a Tiffany's box, the St. Regis New York is offering up something that may satisfy your desires—at a solid-gold price. The hotel's new 1,700-square-foot Tiffany Suite features a private dining room dressed in the jeweler's trademark blue and stocked with Tiffany barware, crystal and china. The rest of the spread is done in more subdued tones, with turquoise accents and archival Tiffany photos on the walls. It runs $8,500 a night—good thing the Wi-Fi is free.

Conservatives take heart, The Dismal Political Economist knows the road is hard and long but your fight to preserve the income of high net worth individuals so they can partake of the above is surely worth the trip down that long, hard road.

To ask people who frequent places like this to forego income to support luxuries like health care, education, unemployment benefits, job training and the like would be wrong, just plain wrong.

[Disclosure Alert:  The Dismal Political Economist has never fanasized about living in a Tiffany's Box.  He is afraid he would be in there with Newt Gingrich.]
