Five Questions To Bother Conservatives With Over the Holiday Picnic, And a Bonus One for Michelle Bachmann

Why Can’t They Answer Just One?

Political discourse is as American as the Fourth of July, and since it is the Fourth of July here are five questions for Conservatives that can further the political discourse, just not in way that they will like.

  1. If the Federal Government must act like families, and balance their budget just like families must balance their budgets, where did the trillions of dollars of household debt come from?

  1. If Government has never ever created a single job, who exactly is paying all of those people who teach our children, care for the sick, maintain the highways, police the neighborhoods and serve as Republican members of Congress?

  1. If corporate income taxes are simply passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices so that consumers rather than the corporation pays the tax, why do corporations care what the corporate tax rate is?

  1. Can Anti Gay Activists name one, just one,  married couple whose lives were damaged by allowing same sex marriage?

  1.  If the Paul Ryan Plan for ending Medicare is so great, why wait 10 years to put it in place? (Ok an oldie but goodie, The Dismal Political Economist just cannot resist that one).

And a bonus question for Ms. Bachmann

  1. When you talked about how the founding fathers fought against slavery, were you talking about Founding Father Thomas Jefferson who kept slaves or Founding Father George Washington who kept slaves?

Take you time everyone, it’s open book and everyone gets a gentleman’s (or gentlewoman’s) C

  1. Question #1 should be posed to the person who said it, Barack Obama. Oh wait, you said these were questions for conservatives, so then he should answer it.
