Sen. Shelby Shows His Ignorance and Rep. Weiner is Too Dumb to Remain in Congress

This Week in Stupid (and the week ain’t even over yet)

Senator Richard Shelby (R, Al) who single handedly denied confirmation of the appointment of Nobel Prize winning Economist Peter Diamond to the Federal Reserve Board said today

It would be my hope that the president will not seek to pack the Fed with those who will use the institution to finance his profligate spending and agenda,"

thus confirming that Sen. Shelby does not even know what the Federal Reserve does.  For other ignorant Conservative Senators, here’s the fact.

The Federal Reserve is in charge of monetary policy, not fiscal policy. It has nothing to do with the level of Federal spending.

This is just nothing The Dismal Political Economist would ever have thought he needed to say to a sitting member of Congress.

By now everyone knows the story about Congressman Anthony Weiner (D, NY), and there are only two things The Dismal Political Economist wants to put on the record.

  1. Resign Mr. Weiner.  You have demonstrated that you are too stupid to serve in Congress, and believe us, that is an accomplishment  that is almost impossible  to reach.  You now join Sen. Shelby (see above) in failing the minimum intelligence level..

  1. We need another Special Election in New York where the Republicans can again run on their Plan To End Medicare That Does Not End Medicare.  Let’s see how that does again.
