Memo To Sarah Palin – You Are Losing Kimberly Strassel of the WSJ

Maybe You Need to Re-Think Your Game Plan

As Sarah Palin goes bus riding on her “It’s Not About Me, It’s About Me” bus tour of historic America, The Wall Street Journal’s Kimberly Strassel expresses some unhappiness with the former Alaska Governor.

Now Ms. Straseel does start out praising Ms. Palin

Mrs. Palin's strengths remain the very ones she displayed when John McCain first chose her as a running mate. She has practical executive experience as the governor of Alaska. She has a reformer's instincts and a healthy skepticism of business-as-usual politics. She has a background that many Americans can identify with and is aided by her innate, and considerable, political skills.

But it does not go well after than as Ms. Palin quits her job “to retreat to the easier job of private citizen” (Ms. Srassel’s words) and then as Ms. Strassel correctly observes, Ms. Palin has really not come up with any policies of her own.

Whatever you think of Mr. Romney's health-care plan, at least he's got one. Mr. Gingrich may not be brave on Medicare reform, but he's willing to get into specifics. What is Mrs. Palin's position on Social Security? What's her idea of corporate tax reform? How would she handle Pakistan? Good leaders inspire, but they also perspire over the painful nitty-gritty of policy. If Mrs. Palin gets in, she starts from way behind.

Now normally for the Wall Street Journal just being a Republican Conservative is enough for a strong endorsement, so The Dismal Political Economist’s advice to Ms. Palin is simple enough,
Get off the bus and get with the program or get out of the way.  Your choice Ms. Palin.

Late follow up

Courtesy of Taegan Goddard we have this explanation from Ms. Palin on Paul Revere’s ride,

"He who warned, uh, the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms uh by ringing those bells and making sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free and we were going to be armed."

And the video is even more, well, just more.

Ok, Ms. Palin you need to get your A game back.  We don’t think this is what Todd meant when he said you have been tested and passed.
