Trump Likes Russia But It is the Old Soviet Union He Really Loves

Possibly Wants to Help Putin Bring It Back

The mystery over why Trumpster so cuddles up to Russia may be that he not only admires the previous incarnation of Russia as the Soviet Union, but also wants to bring Soviet policies to the United States.  The Washington Post reports the Trumpies are installing political operatives in various departments.

Most members of President Trump’s Cabinet do not yet have leadership teams in place or even nominees for top deputies. But they do have an influential coterie of senior aides installed by the White House who are charged — above all — with monitoring the secretaries’ loyalty, according to eight officials in and outside the administration.

This shadow government of political appointees with the title of senior White House adviser is embedded at every Cabinet agency, with offices in or just outside the secretary’s suite. The White House has installed at least 16 of the advisers at departments including Energy and Health and Human Services and at some smaller agencies such as NASA, according to records first obtained by ProPublica through a Freedom of Information Act request.

This Forum has referred to Sean Spicer as Soviet Sean and Kellyanne Conway as Commie Conway because of their similarity to the old Soviet style lying about how well the Soviets were doing when they were really collapsing.  One aspect of the Soviet ruling philosophy was to install Communist Party enforcers in all parts of governmental operations.  A submarine had a political officer who had to make sure the sub operated in accordance with Communist doctrine. 

Of course since communism was such a monumental failure about all this did was hasten the demise of the Soviet Union and communism world wide.  One can only hope that Trumpism faces the same conclusion, and given the events of the first two month they are well on their way.
