But Why? - Mr.
Gingrich is Ignorant of Even Basic Economics
There is very little
to find fault with Paul Krugman. The
Nobel winning Economist and opinion writer for the New York Times has been
almost completely accurate in his assessment of economic policy that led up to
the Great Recession and his analysis of policy that was implemented both in the
United States and Europe in response to the Great Recession. But even Mr. Krugman apparently has
his blind spots.

In Toronto
to debate with Newt Gingrich (I guess John Lithgow wasn’t available), so no
time for posting. Service probably won’t resume until late afternoon tomorrow.
It is impossible to understand why Mr. Krugman is
doing this? Mr. Gingrich is a total
lightweight, a person of almost no knowledge of basic economics, an individual
who says what his emotions and political philosophy tell him to say regardless
of the relationship of those thoughts to the real world. There is no argument that Mr. Gingrich can make in disagreement with Mr. Krugman that would have any credibility. For him to debate Mr. Krugman is a non-event,
a meaningless activity, a waste of Mr. Krugman’s time.
So why do it?
