Income Distribution Impact in Two Charts From The Incidental
Economist
One of the biggest misconceptions about what the Republican
House passed is that it was about health care.
No it was not. The AHCA is a tax
cut for the wealthy bill using health care as the vehicle. The great web site The
Incidental Economist has two charts that show this.
This first chart shows the income distribution of Obama’s
health care program. The groups the are
lower income persons are to the left, to the right are higher incomes.
This second chart shows the income distribution of the
Republican plan. Anyone surprised? Didn’t think so.
Next is a similar chart from the Urban Institute on the net transfer effects of the AHCA.
