Newt Gingrich Said He Would Win Iowa by Losing – and Other Laughter to Start the New Year

It Doesn’t Get Much Funnier Than This

When Newt Gingrich weighed in on his chances in the Iowa Caucuses  he said this

Newt Gingrich said today he doesn't expect to win the Iowa caucuses tomorrow night, but will declare victory because he has survived an onslaught of negative advertising

And in a related development Mr. Gingrich drew upon his expertise as a historian to declare Napoleon the victor at Waterloo because, as Mr. Gingrich put, Napoleon survived an onslaught of negative advertising.  Napoleon only seemed to lose, according to Newt because the British took out negative ads about the French in all the European papers.

As far as global warming is concerned,  Mr. Gingrich said this

when asked to explain his position on global warming, he delivered a new line.

“I’m an amateur paleontologist,” Gingrich said. “I spend a lot of time looking at the Earth’s temperature for a very long time. I’m a lot harder to convince than just looking at a computer model.”

And while everyone agrees that Mr. Gingrich is an amateur at many things, no one really thinks paleontology is one of them.

If When Mr. Gingrich leaves the Presidential race to return to his true calling, making money and glorifying Newt Gingrich a little bit of laughter will be taken from the world.
