By Ed O’Keefe and Tom Hamburger,
This is to be
expected. Men and women who think
that the right to own an automatic weapon is greater than the right to be safe
and secure in one’s own home will never
be defeated by logic, honesty, or
respect for life.
But their argument
that gun ownership will make everyone safer was cruelly destroyed by the
events at the Boston Marathon. No amount
of automatic weapons would have prevented that tragedy, no amount of unlimited
gun rights would have stopped the bombs.
Think about it.
The "gun rights" argument is that banning guns will not make us any safer, so we should not ban them.
