More Evidence That Republicans Form Their Views in a World of Fiction

But Go Ahead, Let Them – Fiction is the Only Thing Meaningful To Them

One of the things about a totalitarian regime is the propaganda they force on their citizens.  Because their rule cannot the subjected to the scrutiny of logic and truth they have to invent fictional scenarios, worlds that don’t exist but whose characteristics support their concepts.

This is the way of Conservative Republicans of course, they live in a fantasy world, their view shaped by that fantasy and in order to convert others to their cause they must force them to share that fantasy world.  Don’t believe it?  Well here is convincing anecdotal evidence from Taegan Goddard.

Lawmaker Wants to Require Students to Read Ayn Rand

Idaho state Sen. John Goedde (R), chairman of the Education Committee, introduced legislation to require every Idaho high school student to read Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged and pass a test on it to graduate from high school, the Spokane Spokesman-Reviewreports.

Said Goedde: "That book made my son a Republican."

Told you so.

  1. Forcing everyone to read Atlas Shrugged is a great idea. Ayn Rand is a horrendously bad schlock writer, and the inane stupidity of her "philosophy" comes through loud and clear. If you are too stupid to see that when reading her books, then you will probably become a Republican anyway. But if you actually think about what she says, you'll be a progressive forever.
