and Tim Pawlenty Endorses Mitt Romney
Texas Gov. Rick Perry created an issue with Social Security at the last Republican debate after he reiterated its charge that it was a Ponzi scheme. Now Mr. Perry has written an op-ed piece for USA Today in which he defends himself. Perry’ solutions are this
Will "Franc" Discussion Fix Social Security Gov. Perry Thinks It Might! |
“Americans deserve a frank and honest discussion of the dire financial challenges facing the nearly 80-year-old program.”
and this
“we must consider reforms to make Social Security financially viable.”
and this
“Our elected leaders must have the strength to speak frankly about entitlement reform”
and this
“We must have the guts to talk about its financial condition if we are to fix Social Security”
and this
“We must have a frank, honest national conversation about fixing Social Security”
Now normally candidates have someone in the campaign to write these pieces, but this looks like something Mr. Perry did all by himself. Also, who is this guy “Frank” who is going to solve the problem.
Mr. Pawlenty's Two Supporters Contemplating Supporting Mr. Romney |
Meanwhile former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty who dropped out of the race shortly after he entered the race endorsed Mitt Romney. Mr. Pawlenty had hoped to play the role of George H. W. Bush to Mr. Romney’s role of Ronald Reagan, but that was not to be. Mr. Pawlenty’s two supporters for the GOP nomination both said they would take what Mr. Pawlenty said under advisement.
