President Obama seems
intent on turning the Democrat margin in the U. S. Senate into a
negative. His appointment of John Kerry
to be Secretary State did very little to help the State Department, but it did
open up his seat for a return by former and recently defeated Senator Scott
Brown to the Senate. But now Mr. Brown has
done the Democrats a huge favor.
Former Massachusetts Republican
senator Scott Brown announced Friday that he will not run in
the special election for outgoing Democratic Sen. John Kerry’s seat. Brown’s
decision means Kerry’s seat is likely to remain in Democratic hands.
The excuse Mr. Brown gave was an unwillingness to
become involved in another campaign, and that may be partly correct. But hopefully it finally dawned on him that
his only role in the Senate was that of Useful Idiot, providing a vote for Republicans
when needed but getting nothing in return.
Goodbye to You Too Mr. Brown, Write if You Get Work |
Whatever, so long Mr. Brown, here’s hoping you have a
nice career as a lobbyist or something in the private sector or something
anything else other than public service.
Really, you are not going to be missed.
