For All Those Worried About MSNBC Firing Pat Buchanan and Denying Him His First Amendment Rights – Here is a Nice Racist Rant

We Are All So Glad Mr. Buchanan Is Around to Illustrate Hatred and Prejudice

A while back MSNBC decided that because of prejudicial nature of his many writings and particularly because of his last book which continued in that vein, the network would not long allow Mr. Buchanan to comment on its programs.  As has been pointed out here and other places, this was not a denial of Mr. Buchanan’s right to speak freely, but an affirmation that no one has the right to be able to go on network television.

Anyway for those concerned that somehow Mr. Buchanan might be silenced, they will be glad to know that he does have a platform, and that his comments on the Trayvon Martin case show Mr. Buchanan has not lost his previously ascribed racial biases.  It seems that to Mr. Buchanan the killer of Mr. Martin was justified for confronting Mr. Martin because almost all crime is committed by African Americans and Hispanics.

Zimmerman "profiled" Trayvon, we are told. And perhaps he did.

But why? What did George Zimmerman, self-styled protector of his gated community, see that night from the wheel of his SUV?

He saw a male. And males are 90 percent of prison inmates. He saw a stranger over 6 feet tall. And he saw a black man or youth with a hood over his head.

Why would this raise Zimmerman's antennae?

Perhaps because black males between 16 and 36, though only 2 to 3 percent of the population, are responsible for a third of all our crimes.

Yep, there it is.  See an African American young man with a hoodie in your neighborhood and you know right away he is a criminal. 

Whenever cable TV runs hidden-camera footage of a liquor or convenience store being held up and someone behind the counter being shot, the perp is often a black male wearing a hoodie

 and about to commit a crime. So if you see such a person, follow him, get out your 9 mm pistol fully loaded, safety off and go after that person.  That’s what real Americans like Mr. Buchanan want you to do.

But wait, let’s not forget the Hispanics.  Mr. Buchanan writes.

As Heather Mac Donald of the Manhattan Institute has written, from January to June 2008 in New York City, 83 percent of all identified gun assailants were black and 15 percent were Hispanics.

Mr. Buchanan sees all of this as a white-black issue,

But if the purpose here is to turn this into a national black-white face-off, instead of a mutual search for truth and justice, it is succeeding marvelously well. 

And radical right winger Ann Coulter is incoherent as usual.

“It’s shocking,” Ann Coulter said on Laura Ingraham's nationally syndicated radio program. “I mean it is a lynch mob. This isn’t how we try cases in this country. And you know, the last time you saw this sort of thing on a regular basis was again of course from the Democratic Party and the Democratic Party’s outgrowth, the KKK. So, I guess we shouldn’t be surprised that we get this from the Democrats. They have never bought into the criminal justice system where you have grand jurors and a procedure where evidence is vetted and police look at it and prosecutors and grand jurors.”

Ms. Coulter completely ignores reality, (Ms. Coulter, what is the color of the sky in your universe?) which is that everyone who is involved in pursuing this case, (and this is on a non-partisan basis),  is asking for exactly what she says she wants, the criminal justice system to work and to place Mr. Zimmerman on trial and let a court of law decide his guilt on innocence.  As for the Democratic party’s "outgrowth, the KKK," well no one including Ms. Coulter has any idea what she is talking about.

But here is noted radical African American agitator and liberal activist Joe Scarborough on the subject

"Like why is it that some on the right are actually taking this up as a cause when as the National Review said almost immediately after it happened, 'This has nothing to do with gun rights. This has nothing to do with the Second Amendment. This has nothing to do with Stand Your Ground laws. This has nothing to do with the NRA. This has everything to do with a guy that's trying to play security cop who was unhinged, who chased down and shot a 17-year-old kid, armed with Skittles and iced tea.'"

"And yet, some of these guys on the right are jumping in with both feet on the far right. They should listen to the National Review when wise conservative thinkers --and not take this up as a cause. But they are and they are trashing Trayvon Martin. It's disgusting," an appalled Scarborough said.

[Editor’s note:  Please ignore the sarcasm of The Dismal Political Economist here.  Mr. Scarborough is not  African American or an agitator but is actually a former Conservative Republican Congressman from Florida who hosts a morning news/commentary show on MSNBC.]

Okay, The Dismal Political Economist will admit that he also has a prejudicial attitude here, towards Mr. Buchanan in particular.  Basically it is this, that when he has learned that Mr. Buchanan has commented on an event such as the Trayvon Martin case he knows that the commentary will be viciously racist even before he has read it,  and while he would like to rid himself of this prejudice, every time he goes ahead and reads Mr. Buchanan it just reinforces things. 

Darn it Pat, give us some help here.
